Industrial Organizational psychology (I-O psychology) is pretty great. What I enjoy most is the ability to take part in one's journey to find the perfect career for themselves. Also, connecting with employees while I work in human resources roles. I believe it is essential to match ourselves with the best careers to live the most balanced life possible. Work and life balance where work does not necessarily have to completely feel like work, because you truly enjoy what you do. Or, at least have learned to create a healthy work-life balance.

It is not often that one is able to feel completely fulfilled before, during, and after a days of work. Most are drain, annoyed, and frustrated; before, during, and after a days work. What does that tell me, something has gone terribly wrong and Mr. and Ms. Overworked, Unappreciated, and Overlooked has at some point taken the wrong turn when it came to some career decisions.
It is my responsibility to help these drained, annoyed, frustrated, overworked, unappreciated, and overlooked employees take a long and meaningful look in the mirror to be honest with themselves. This must come at the initiative of the employee or the organization they represent. It may come with a load of sporadic emotions but that is perfectly fine and expected.
When was the last time you were completely honest with yourself? When have you truly thought about making some healthy changes? When have you just simply taken a moment to enjoy a thought of something different for yourself?
